“Even the greatest was once a beginner. Don’t be afraid to take that first step.”

In fitness (and life), doing anything out of our comfort zone can be pretty scary. Why? It’s because you’re moving through uncharted territories.
Yesterday, I trained my first client. In retrospect, I was a nervous wreck! Although, I went through months of intense studying for the NCSF certification – it did not ease the nerves of the unknown.
Going into the training session, I had to believe what I prepared would serve its purpose to identify areas of opportunity. If not, I had backup options to rely on. By the end of the session, my client and I both left feeling more confident – we truly tend to worry about the small things.
Being in the fitness realm, as a personal trainer, it’s so easy to second guess what you truly know. Clients come to us hoping to gain clarity in reaching their fitness goals – but with so much information out there, it can be overwhelming to find the most simplistic approach of what works.
Because of my first session, I was able to recognize 4 key takeaways:
1. Prepare but don’t stress
2. It’s okay to not have all the answers
3. Deciding to take the first step leads to the change(s) you desire
4. Don’t rush the process – enjoy it!
